FOUNTAIN, Colo. – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has lifted a shelter-in-place order for residents in southeastern Fountain after officials addressed a gas leak. The order, which was initially issued around 7:00 p.m. on November 11, was rescinded just before 12:45 a.m. on November 12.
According to an alert from authorities, the leak occurred in the vicinity of the 800 block of Hayloft Lane, affecting a half-mile radius near Jimmy Camp Road and Link Road. During the incident, residents were instructed to remain indoors, secure all doors and windows, and deactivate their heating and cooling systems.
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the situation has been resolved and the area is now safe. All regular activities and operations in the affected neighborhood can resume without restriction.
