SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A multi-agency law enforcement operation in Macomb County has resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of approximately 1,500 pounds of marijuana. The raid targeted a suspected multi-state drug trafficking network operating out of Shelby Township, according to officials.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Enforcement Team (SET), in collaboration with the DEA and the Warren Police Department, executed search warrants at three residences and one business on November 6. The operation yielded a significant quantity of illicit substances and assets. In addition to the marijuana, authorities confiscated hundreds of THC vape pens, edibles, five firearms, $380,000 in cash, and five vehicles. Small amounts of crack cocaine, ketamine, and mushrooms were also recovered.
Three men from Shelby Township, aged 21, 30, and 35, were taken into custody. Each suspect faces felony charges, including controlled substance delivery/manufacture of 45 kilograms or more of marijuana, conspiracy, and maintaining a drug house. A judge has set a $100,000 cash-only bond for each individual.
Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham stated that such illegal activities pose a significant threat to public safety. “Illegal drug activity threatens and endangers public safety, frequently leading to violent crimes such as armed robberies and home invasions,” Wickersham said in a statement. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to dismantle large-scale illegal drug operations despite the legalization of marijuana in Michigan. It is important to note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
