The incident began around 1:50 p.m. following a 911 call reporting a carjacking in Laughlin, according to information provided by the LVMPD to local media. Police initiated a chase, with the department’s Air Unit tracking the stolen vehicle.
The pursuit ended when the suspects reportedly abandoned the car in the vicinity of US 95/I-11 and Wagon Wheel Drive, an area close to the university. During the subsequent search, the university issued safety alerts on social media, advising everyone on campus to shelter in place due to a large police presence.
