According to the Ceres Police Department, the events unfolded around 10 p.m. Saturday in the 3300 block of Zurich Lane. A resident, who was not home at the time, observed three armed men breaking into her residence via a live surveillance camera feed and immediately contacted 911.
Police reported that as the suspects fled the scene with stolen property, a witness observed their vehicle and relayed their location to authorities. When officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the suspects refused to yield, initiating a high-speed chase that spanned two counties.
The pursuit eventually terminated in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue in Manteca, where the suspects abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot. Authorities stated that the individuals were tracked to a nearby residence. A perimeter was established with assistance from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, Air 101, the California Highway Patrol, and the Manteca Police Department.
