CAPE CORAL, Fla. – A tactical operation executed by the Cape Coral Police Department’s SWAT team on Thursday resulted in the arrests of three individuals and the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics, including fentanyl and methamphetamine.
According to the Cape Coral Police Department, the Narcotics Unit launched an investigation into alleged street-level drug distribution centered at a residence located at 1508 Southwest 28th Terrace. Following the investigation, authorities obtained and executed a search warrant at the property to secure evidence of illicit activity.
Police reports indicate that Michael Patrick Hennessey and Heather Marie Hennessey were present inside the home during the raid. Michael Hennessey, who law enforcement noted had outstanding narcotics-related warrants, was taken into custody without incident. A subsequent search of the residence yielded various controlled substances. Detectives confirmed that Michael Hennessey is accused of distributing marijuana, fentanyl, prescription pills, methamphetamine, and crack cocaine. He faces multiple charges, including trafficking in methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell various controlled substances.
Heather Hennessey was also arrested at the scene and charged with possession of fentanyl. Authorities noted that the operation was part of a broader effort to dismantle local drug distribution networks operating within residential neighborhoods.
During surveillance prior to the warrant execution, detectives observed a third suspect, identified as Kristian Araujo Ferreira Da Silva, departing the residence. According to law enforcement officials, Da Silva fled the area recklessly in a vehicle, nearly striking a police K-9 unit and a bystander at a nearby convenience store. The vehicle was later discovered abandoned with cocaine inside. Da Silva was subsequently apprehended and charged with fleeing and eluding law enforcement, as well as possession of cocaine.
Narcotics Enforcement & Legal Proceedings
This operation highlights the ongoing tactical focus of local law enforcement on street-level narcotics trafficking, particularly involving high-potency substances like fentanyl and methamphetamine. The deployment of SWAT units for such warrants suggests a calculated assessment of risk often associated with narcotics interdiction. As the cases against Michael Hennessey, Heather Hennessey, and Kristian Araujo Ferreira Da Silva move to the judicial system, the proceedings will rely heavily on the chain of custody regarding the seized contraband. It is important to note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
