MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. — Multi-jurisdictional narcotics task forces executed a series of raids across Metro Detroit earlier this month, resulting in the seizure of significant quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, firearms, and financial assets, according to reports from the Michigan State Police.
Detectives from the Metro Narcotics Enforcement Team (MNET) concluded a months-long investigation into a suspected drug trafficking organization by serving 15 search warrants on February 11 and 12. According to a statement released by the Michigan State Police, the operation spanned Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. Authorities reported that the investigation, which began in the summer of 2025, targeted a specific criminal network operating within the region.
During the MNET raids, investigators confiscated a substantial volume of narcotics, including more than 5 kilograms of cocaine, 4.6 kilograms of fentanyl, 43 grams of crack cocaine, 5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and 21 pounds of marijuana. The inventory of seized contraband also included 1,580 oxycodone pills, 574 Xanax pills, and 102 ecstasy pills. In addition to the narcotics, law enforcement officials seized 26 firearms.
Financial assets were also targeted during the sweeps. MNET officers seized over $73,000 in cash and jewelry valued at approximately $278,780, with authorities indicating an intent to forfeit these items. "An operation of this size could not have been accomplished without the help of the federal and local departments that provided manpower and resources," MNET representatives stated.
Separately, the County of Macomb Enforcement Team (COMET) executed two search warrants in Detroit on February 13, following an investigation that began in the winter. According to police reports, COMET officers seized over 300 grams of cocaine and 60 hydrocodone pills. A vehicle and an undisclosed amount of cash were also confiscated with intent to forfeit. COMET is comprised of officers from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, and several local municipal departments including Chesterfield Township, Roseville, St. Clair Shores, and Shelby Township.
Both investigations remain active, and authorities have not released the names of specific suspects or the exact locations of the raids. The operations were supported by the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG), administered by the U.S. Justice Department.
Operational Impact and Public Safety
The confiscation of 4.6 kilograms of fentanyl represents a critical intervention in public safety, given the extreme potency of the substance and its role in the ongoing opioid crisis. These simultaneous operations highlight the strategic necessity of inter-agency cooperation and federal funding to address drug trafficking organizations that operate across jurisdictional boundaries. As the investigations continue, law enforcement efforts will likely focus on tracing the origins of the seized firearms and the financial trails associated with the confiscated assets to further dismantle the trafficking infrastructure.
It is important to note that all individuals involved or targeted in these investigations are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
