PORT ST. LUCIE — Authorities have identified Steven Mohring, 65, as the motorcyclist who sustained fatal injuries following a collision in western Port St. Lucie. The formal identification was released by the police department on February 24.
According to Lt. Joe Norkus, a police spokesperson, the incident occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. on February 23. Mohring, a resident of Port St. Lucie, was operating a 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling westbound on Southwest Crosstown Parkway, located west of Interstate 95.
The police report indicates that a second vehicle, a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder driven by a 30-year-old Port St. Lucie woman, was involved in the crash. Investigators determined that the driver of the SUV was attempting a left turn from Southwest Southern Hills Drive to travel eastbound on Southwest Crosstown Parkway at the time of the collision.
