According to the police report, officers responded to the intersection of Catherine and Harlem Avenues at approximately 11:55 p.m. on February 24 regarding a reported carjacking. The initial investigation indicates the crime occurred while the victims were vulnerable on the roadside.

The victims told investigators they were driving a Jeep Compass on Catherine Avenue when the vehicle began suffering from mechanical issues. After they pulled over to inspect the problem, a black SUV reportedly approached and stopped directly behind their vehicle.

Authorities stated that two suspects armed with handguns exited the SUV and demanded possession of the Jeep. One suspect entered the victim’s vehicle while the other returned to the black SUV. Both drivers then fled the scene. Responding officers canvassed the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspects or the stolen vehicle immediately.

Police described the suspects as two Black men wearing dark-colored hoodies, black pants, and ski masks at the time of the incident. Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the case to contact the department at 410-222-4700.
