Trevor Lawrence Returns from Injury for Jaguars vs. Texans

Trevor Lawrence is set to make his return for the Jacksonville Jaguars as they face the Houston Texans, following a two-game absence due to a shoulder injury.

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ quarterback Trevor Lawrence will be back on the field after missing two games due to an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder. The injury occurred during the Jaguars’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9. His return is crucial for the Jaguars, who have been struggling this season with a 2-9 record, including a recent significant loss to the Detroit Lions.

Head coach Doug Pederson expressed confidence in Lawrence’s recovery during a press conference, indicating that he anticipated the quarterback’s readiness after the team’s Week 12 bye. Lawrence participated in limited practices throughout the week, which reinforced the belief that he was prepared to play against the Texans.

Lawrence has completed 61.3% of his passes, totaling 2,004 yards with 11 touchdowns and six interceptions over nine games this season. Despite the team’s setbacks, his performance was trending upward before his injury, offering hope for a better showing as he returns to lead the team.

Additionally, the Jaguars will see the return of running back Tank Bigsby, who is also back from a hamstring injury that sidelined him during the game against the Lions. On the other hand, linebacker Yasir Abdullah has been ruled out due to a hamstring issue, along with several other players listed as inactive, including OL Javon Foster, DL Esezi Otomewo, RB D’Ernest Johnson, DL Jordan Jefferson, and QB CJ Beathard, the emergency third quarterback.

Doug Pederson remarked on Lawrence’s promising week of practice, saying, “Yeah, I mean, he’s had a good week. He’s obviously done some really good things this week. I would say as of right now, yes. He will play. We’ll get through today, Friday, Saturday, but he’s had a good week.”

With Trevor Lawrence’s return, the Jaguars hope to turn their season around as they look to perform strongly against the Texans. His presence is expected to restore some momentum and stability to the team’s offensive performance.
