Teenage Boy Fatally Stabbed by Girlfriend in Miami

In a tragic incident outside a Miami apartment, 17-year-old Yahkeim Lollar lost his life after being stabbed by his girlfriend. The young teen, an aspiring stockbroker, was found near Northwest Sixth Court and 61 Street in the Model City neighborhood, where a memorial now stands in his honor.

Yahkeim Lollar, a promising student at Miami Northwestern Senior High School, where he played as a running back for the football team, was preparing for graduation and had dreams of becoming a stockbroker. His untimely death has left his family devastated, as they were planning his funeral instead of the Christmas celebrations they had anticipated.

Officer Zeldrina Beecham, Yahkeim’s aunt, expressed the family’s grief and confusion over the events leading to his death. She remembered her nephew as someone who excelled in academics and preferred spending time at home rather than on the streets. “We taught him to stay out of the streets… he did exactly that and still this happened,” she lamented, highlighting the senselessness of the tragedy.

The incident took place just outside the apartment complex where Yahkeim lived. Following the stabbing, he was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. Miami homicide detectives are investigating the case, but details on the motive remain unclear.

The community has shown immense support to Yahkeim’s family, gathering with green balloons — his favorite color — and white candles to honor his memory. The outpouring of love and remembrance reflects the impact Yahkeim had on those around him.

Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could shed light on this case, urging people to contact Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers.

The tragic loss of Yahkeim Lollar serves as a somber reminder of the unpredictability of life, even for those who strive to do right. As his family and community mourn, the search for answers continues.
