Police Seek Suspects in Jacksonville Shooting

A shooting at a Jacksonville Wendy’s left a man critically injured, prompting a large-scale manhunt for three suspects.

A man in his twenties sustained life-threatening injuries after being shot at a Wendy’s in Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) reported that the incident, which occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, involved a planned meeting between the victim and one of the suspects in the restaurant’s parking lot.

During the meeting, a second suspect approached the victim’s vehicle and fired a shot into the upper chest area of the victim. The suspects, three men in total, fled the scene in a white Kia sedan, leading law enforcement on a chase. Nassau County deputies later found the vehicle abandoned, and the men continued their escape on foot.

An intense search operation ensued, with the Charlton County Sheriff’s Office reporting their efforts to locate the suspects on the east side of Folkston, near President Road. Sheriff Robert Phillips urged local residents to stay vigilant and secure their homes, noting that canine units were involved in the ongoing search.

JSO provided clothing descriptions of the suspects: one wore a beige hoodie with black pants, another donned a black hoodie with orange pants, and the third was seen in a camouflage hoodie and black pants. They remain at large, and authorities have called on the public for assistance in locating them.

Authorities have set up a hotline at 904-630-0500 for any information related to the suspects’ whereabouts. The investigation remains active as JSO and other agencies work diligently to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The community is urged to stay safe and report any relevant information as police intensify efforts to track down the suspects involved in this violent incident.
