A hearing occurred in Miami-Dade on Monday involving Oren and Alon Alexander, twin luxury real estate brokers facing serious charges.
Oren and Alon Alexander, both aged 37, are prominent figures in the luxury real estate community. Despite their prominence, they chose not to attend the recent hearing regarding their legal troubles. The hearing aimed to discuss their significant $5 million bond, which was the subject of deliberation by the judge and attorneys present.
Previously, Oren and Alon were granted separate bonds—$3 million for Oren and $2 million for Alon. However, both remain in custody pending a federal hearing. During the Miami-Dade proceeding, Judge Lody Jean advised defense attorneys to await the outcomes of the federal court proceedings before attempting to secure their release via bond in the state case.
The allegations against the brothers have captured public attention. These charges are not isolated incidents but are part of a broader federal indictment. Alongside another brother, Tal Alexander, they face accusations of operating a long-term sex trafficking scheme. Tal, also a co-founder of their high-profile real estate firm, was denied bail in federal court, highlighting the serious nature of the allegations.
The federal indictment accuses the Alexander brothers of complicity in drugging and assaulting multiple victims between 2010 and 2021. Damian Williams, Manhattan’s U.S. Attorney, stated that the brothers exploited their wealth and influence to target victims. This pattern of abuse reportedly spanned over a decade and involved manipulating victims into situations where they could be easily exploited, underlined by promises of professional or romantic advancement.
State prosecutors further allege specific incidents within Miami-Dade. Notably, in December 2016, an incident described as a ‘gang rape’ allegedly occurred at Alon’s Miami Beach apartment. Another allegation from October 2017 describes a woman being assaulted by Oren after a real estate event. In both cases, victims reportedly were drugged, impairing their ability to consent or resist.
The allegations have serious ramifications, not just for the accused brothers but also for their business and associates due to the nature of the crimes and the intensity of public and legal scrutiny.
The legal proceedings against the Alexander brothers are ongoing, with both state and federal courts examining the serious accusations against them.
