An 18-year-old from Key Largo was taken into custody in connection with a road rage event where a pellet gun was displayed.
In the Florida Keys, a key arrest was made following a reported road rage incident on U.S. 1. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Jarek Ryszard Widelski was arrested after allegedly pulling a pellet gun on a woman while driving near mile marker 102. This incident took place just after 12:45 p.m. when a call was made to 911 reporting the confrontation.
Adam Linhardt, the spokesperson for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, detailed that deputies intercepted Widelski shortly after the 911 call. Upon stopping his pickup truck, officers discovered what appeared to be a ‘realistic-looking airsoft gun’. This airsoft weapon led to the arrest of Widelski on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and improper exhibition of a firearm.
Following his arrest, Widelski was detained at the Key West jail facility. He is being held on a $25,000 bond, as per the records of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. A court hearing is scheduled for Widelski on February 4th. These court proceedings will determine the legal actions and penalties he might face for his alleged actions.
