Every January, vibrant plastic orbs are discreetly placed throughout Jekyll Island, offering participants a chance to journey through various hiking paths, beach trails, and biking routes. This event provides a captivating opportunity to engage with the island’s natural beauty while participating in a community-driven activity.

Participants who discover an orb are rewarded with the chance to exchange it for a one-of-a-kind, handmade glass-blown orb at the Visitor’s Center. This unique prize, valued at $75, is entirely free for those lucky enough to find a plastic orb.

The Jekyll Island treasure hunt does not require any entry fee, although visitors must pay an $8 toll per vehicle to access the island. Running from January 1st to the end of February, the event allows ample time for families and friends to participate in this engaging outdoor adventure.
