Westbrook Achieves Historic Triple-Double in Nuggets’ Victory

In a remarkable display of skill and precision, Russell Westbrook made history in the Denver Nuggets’ 132-121 win over the Utah Jazz. The game, held in Salt Lake City, saw Westbrook become only the second NBA player ever to achieve a triple-double with zero turnovers while maintaining a perfect shooting record.

Westbrook’s performance was nothing short of extraordinary. He recorded 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, achieving a flawless 7-for-7 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. This feat places him alongside Domantas Sabonis, making history in the process.

Adding to the night’s highlights, Nikola Jokic also secured a triple-double with 36 points, 22 rebounds, and 11 assists. Jamal Murray contributed significantly as well, delivering 20 points and 10 assists.

Despite Utah leading 66-64 at halftime, the Nuggets surged ahead in the third quarter, outscoring the Jazz 34-23. Both teams faced lineup challenges with Denver’s Aaron Gordon sidelined due to a calf strain and Utah’s John Collins out with a hip bruise.

For the Jazz, Jordan Clarkson scored 24 points and Collin Sexton added 22. However, Utah’s struggle with turnovers was evident, particularly in the second half where they committed 13 turnovers, leading to 14 points for Denver.

A pivotal moment came when Westbrook stole the ball from Sexton, leading to a dunk that extended Denver’s lead to 126-114 with less than three minutes remaining. Though Utah made attempts to close the gap, Denver’s lead proved insurmountable.

Russell Westbrook’s historic performance was a key factor in the Denver Nuggets’ victory over the Utah Jazz. His ability to achieve a triple-double with such efficiency underscores his exceptional talent and highlights a memorable moment in sports history.
