A teenager is facing serious charges following a drive-by shooting in Florida City that resulted in another teen being hospitalized. The 15-year-old, Jeremiah Dordolle, appeared in Miami-Dade Circuit Court before Judge Mindy Glazer on Friday, charged with attempted felony murder with a firearm, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
The incident occurred on March 5, along Northwest Fifth Avenue near 15th Street. Authorities reported that the victim, also 15, was walking when a dark-colored vehicle approached. After an initial exchange, the car left but returned shortly, and shots were fired. The victim was struck in the calf but managed to run two blocks before collapsing. He was subsequently airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
Witnesses described the terrifying scene, noting that stray bullets struck nearby properties, including a pink toy car belonging to a young child. A neighbor expressed relief that no one else was injured, particularly their own child. Investigators stated that the victim identified Dordolle in a photo lineup as a shooter.
The judge found probable cause for the charges and upheld the state’s request for pretrial detention, leading to Dordolle being held without bond at the Metrowest Detention Center. Court records indicate that Dordolle has a scheduled hearing on Monday.
