Officials revealed that upon the deputies’ arrival, Powell admitted to having a verbal altercation with the woman involved. However, further investigation uncovered allegations of physical abuse. It was revealed that Powell forcefully slapped the victim in the face and ear, resulting in temporary hearing loss and inflicted additional harm by beating her with a belt multiple times. Medical examinations at a nearby hospital documented significant injuries that necessitated hospitalization.
The victim reportedly informed detectives that the abuse was not an isolated incident, claiming it had been ongoing since March 2024. Subsequently, Powell faced charges of three counts of aggravated battery, one count of felony battery, and four counts of domestic battery.
