MBTA Commuter Rail Train Strikes Tractor-Trailer in Massachusetts Town, Forcing Truck Along Tracks

On Wednesday afternoon, a section of a town in Massachusetts was closed to traffic following a collision between an MBTA commuter rail train and a tractor-trailer. The incident occurred along Pine Street in Canton, involving a Providence/Stoughton line train and a Ross Express tractor-trailer, as reported by the Canton Police Department.

Keolis Commuter Services confirmed that the tractor-trailer was unoccupied at the time of the crash, having halted on the tracks at the crossing. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and both the crossing gates and lights functioned properly during the incident. In response to this disruption, shuttle buses are providing transportation for passengers between Canton Center and Stoughton.
