An individual named Abdellatif has been implicated in the fatal shooting of a 36-year-old man, Larry Swain Jr., on January 10, 2023. The incident unfolded in Troy when Abdellatif, residing above a Boost Mobile store operated by his family on North Dixie Drive, reported hearing suspicious noises emanating from the establishment during the night.
He proceeded down the external stairs with a handgun to investigate and observed an alleged burglar inside the premises. In response, Abdellatif discharged multiple rounds through the front window, striking the intruder, who then fled. Shortly thereafter, Dayton police were called to a North Horton Street residence concerning a gunshot victim, who was later identified as Swain. Swain was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Additionally, authorities detained a 16-year-old girl accompanying Swain during the burglary.
