The incident occurred on April 9, and Rivers has since been charged with felony possession of a firearm on school property and misdemeanor harassment via written communication. Court documents reveal that Rivers expressed dissatisfaction with the project, claiming it was related to “same-sex relationships,” whereas the teacher explained it concerned different flags, including the rainbow Pride flag. Rivers was also reportedly upset about the teacher’s personal relationship with a woman who is a police officer.
During the confrontation, a silent alert was triggered, prompting police to respond to the scene. Upon arrival, officers noticed Rivers had a firearm holstered at her waist, which they removed before questioning her.
