Rochester Police Launch Investigation into Armed Carjacking in Northwest Area

The Rochester Police Department is actively investigating a reported carjacking incident that took place in the early hours of Thursday, April 17. This event occurred outside an apartment building located in the 2000 block of 41st Street Northwest.

According to official reports, two suspects approached a parked vehicle, brandishing a handgun, and demanded that the occupants exit the car. Following compliance from the vehicle’s occupants, the suspects commandeered the vehicle and drove away from the scene.

Subsequent police efforts managed to spot the stolen vehicle in the vicinity. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the suspects evaded capture by abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot near the intersection of 16th Avenue Northwest and 41st Street Northwest. Despite ongoing efforts, the suspects remain at large.
