A serious traffic collision occurred in Butler County when a vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction. According to recent information provided by the Pennsylvania State Police, the incident involved a 45-year-old man driving a 2005 Dodge Magnum. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at 55 mph in the wrong direction when it collided head-on with a tractor-trailer. The crash took place in the eastbound lanes of Route 422 in Summit Township on Tuesday.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the Dodge Magnum sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Fortunately, the driver of the tractor-trailer, who is from Georgia, escaped the incident without injury.
The state police have not yet disclosed the reasons behind the driver’s mistake that led to traveling the incorrect way on the roadway.
