Guns and Drugs Discovered in Allapattah Home, Police Report

Two individuals are facing numerous felony charges related to armed cocaine trafficking, as reported by the Miami Police. The arrests took place Thursday evening, involving Jose Benjamin Corujo, aged 31, from northwest Miami-Dade, and Jose Andre Reyes, aged 26, from Miami.

The police operation unfolded at the Air Park Plaza shopping center, located at the junction of Northwest Seventh Street and 57th Avenue in Miami’s Flagami neighborhood. Authorities executed a controlled drug transaction in the parking area.

Subsequent to the initial arrests, law enforcement officers conducted a search of Reyes’ residence on the 2300 block of Northwest 31st Street in the Allapattah neighborhood. The search unveiled a cache of 10 rifles, including an AK-47, three handguns, alongside ammunition, magazines, 181 grams of cocaine, and 484 grams of marijuana. Additionally, authorities discovered controlled substances such as Oxycodone, Adderall, and Xanax.

At the time of their apprehension, both men were reportedly on probation. Reyes was serving probation for attempted murder, a case originating from an arrest by the then Miami-Dade Police Department when he was 19 years old. Although specific details of the case are unavailable, court records indicate that he received withheld adjudication and probation under the designation of a “youthful offender.”

Corujo’s probation traces back to an April 2024 incident in Coral Gables, where he was apprehended for consuming alcohol in a public park while skateboarding. The arrest report details an altercation with the police, where Corujo evaded capture, was subsequently tased, and found in possession of cocaine.

Presently, both Corujo and Reyes are detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. As of Friday, their bonds remain pending, according to online jail records.
