Fatal Stabbing of 40-Year-Old Man in Upper West Side Building Altercation

Late on Friday night, a tragic incident unfolded inside an Upper West Side apartment building where a 40-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the neck. This incident occurred at approximately 11:55 p.m. within the NYCHA’s Douglass II Housing complex located on West 104th Street near Columbus Avenue. Despite being rapidly transported to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, the man succumbed to his injuries.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been released pending family notification, suffered multiple stab wounds. The police have yet to apprehend any suspects, and the motive for this violent attack remains undetermined.

A police investigation is currently underway, with officers seeking out surveillance footage and other potential evidence to identify the perpetrator. A blood trail discovered in the building’s stairwell and a guarded elevator are points of interest in the ongoing probe.
