A man was apprehended after a series of alarming incidents culminating in an attempted bank robbery in Tacoma. Before heading to the bank, the individual allegedly caused chaos in a department store, where he is reported to have set a fire, disabled surveillance cameras with a fire extinguisher, damaged a charging station, and threatened staff members.
Following this disruption, the suspect is said to have attempted to steal a car nearby, but his efforts were unsuccessful. His next stop was a local bank, where he purportedly claimed to have a bomb, prompting swift action from the employees who evacuated the premises and secured him inside.
Upon arrival, Tacoma Police officers encountered the suspect inside the bank. During the confrontation, the suspect oddly inquired, “How can I help you today?” This unusual interaction was captured on video, with an officer responding, “You don’t work here, man,” before entering to make the arrest. The video footage also records flames briefly igniting on the bank counter near where the suspect stood.
The suspect was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Pierce County Jail, facing multiple felony charges. This series of events underscores the quick response by law enforcement and the potential dangers posed by such erratic behavior.
