An early morning fire on Saturday claimed the lives of two individuals in a two-story home located in the village of Imperial, Findlay Township. The incident occurred on Poplar Street around 4:30 a.m., prompting an investigation by Allegheny County police and the fire marshal.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been disclosed by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner. Firefighters dedicated several hours to control the blaze, although it remains uncertain whether any additional injuries were sustained in the incident.
In response to the fire, Main Street between Agway and California Hollow Drive in Imperial has been closed indefinitely as announced by township police. The local authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
