A report initially describing a suicide on Fox Island took a dramatic turn on Sunday as Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies uncovered evidence contradicting the claim. Early that morning, a 29-year-old man contacted authorities, stating that his 27-year-old girlfriend had taken her own life.
Upon arrival at the location on the 800 block of Fox Drive, investigators discovered the woman’s remains and began an extensive investigation. As the inquiry progressed, detectives and forensic teams identified evidence that did not align with a suicide scenario.
Following the investigation, law enforcement officials detained the man, charging him with suspicion of second-degree murder, and he was subsequently booked into the Pierce County Jail. The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.
