A tragic ski accident claimed the life of a New Hampshire man near the summit of Black Mountain Ski Area in Jackson. The incident occurred on Sunday, leaving Eric M. Page, a 39-year-old resident of Bartlett, fatally injured on the “Upper Maple Slalom” trail.
Authorities reported that at 5:51 p.m., Jackson Police responded to a call regarding a skiing accident at Black Mountain Ski Area, located at 373 Black Mountain Road. The initial alert indicated that a skier had veered off the trail, resulting in severe injuries. The incident, which occurred near the summit, was not witnessed firsthand but was reported by another skier passing by.
Mountain ski patrol promptly arrived at the scene on the “Upper Maple Slalom” trail to provide assistance. Upon arrival, they found Eric Page unresponsive, suffering from significant injuries at the edge of the snow line to the left of the trail.
Emergency crews transported Page to the base area, where paramedics attempted to administer lifesaving measures. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
