Authorities have identified the victim of a recent shooting incident in Newport News. Barney Kittles Jr., a 39-year-old resident of Hampton, was fatally wounded in a shooting that occurred last Friday afternoon in the 800 block of 35th Street.
Newport News police reported that officers responded to the scene near Interstate 664 in the city’s Southeast community shortly after 3:10 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Kittles Jr. suffering from a life-threatening gunshot injury. He was promptly transported to a local medical facility for treatment, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
