A man has succumbed to injuries sustained during a shooting incident last week, as confirmed by the Hampton Police Division. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire in the 1000 block of Topping Lane at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday. This area is situated within the Farmington neighborhood, in proximity to Todds Lane and Old Big Bethel Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 21-year-old Jayland Kelley from Newport News suffering from a critical gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. However, it was announced on Monday that Kelley had passed away due to the injuries sustained.
