Authorities are actively searching for a woman involved in an assault on two restaurant employees at a Chinese restaurant in Harlem, New York, which occurred earlier this month. The incident took place at the Empire Chinese restaurant, situated in East Harlem near Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard and West 141st Street, on April 6. During the altercation, the suspect targeted a 42-year-old female employee, reportedly grabbing her by the hair and pulling her to the ground.
The altercation escalated when the woman allegedly hurled anti-Asian remarks, instructing the victims to return to their country. A 48-year-old male employee attempted to intervene in the situation but was met with violence, sustaining a facial injury after being punched. Despite the physical confrontation, both employees declined medical treatment.
The woman involved in the incident was described as wearing a black coat, black pants, and black sneakers. Following the altercation, she was last seen heading south on Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard before turning east on West 141st Street. The New York Police Department’s Hate Crime Task Force is treating the incident as a hate crime and has launched an investigation.
