A search is underway by the Tacoma Police Department for a suspect involved in the fatal shooting of a teenager. The incident took place on Sunday, April 20, at approximately 9:30 p.m. along East 41st Street, near the Tacoma River of Grace Church.
Police reports indicate that officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered a teenage boy suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite being transported to the hospital for treatment, the teenager succumbed to his injuries.
No arrests have been made in connection with this incident. Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians are currently treating the case as a homicide and remain actively engaged in the investigation.
This recent tragedy occurred just a few blocks away from a separate fatal shooting that took place two weeks prior. That incident occurred on Portland Avenue, between East 43rd Street and East 44th Street, resulting in the death of another teenager. To date, no arrests have been made in that case either, and it remains uncertain whether the two cases are related.
