A death investigation has been initiated by police following the discovery of an unresponsive newborn baby in an apartment building. The incident occurred overnight in Chicago’s South Side. Police responded to a call around midnight on Tuesday at a location in the 4700 block of South Damen Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found the newborn unresponsive.
The infant was promptly transported to Stroger Hospital, where medical personnel pronounced the baby deceased. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. At this time, no further information has been released to the public.
