Orlando Man Pleads Guilty to Enticing Minor for Sexual Activity, Faces Up to Life in Prison

Orlando, FL – A 29-year-old Orlando resident, Delta Henry Rushing II, has pleaded guilty to charges of enticing a minor for sexual activity and committing a felony offense involving a minor while being a registered sex offender. Rushing now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison, with the potential for a life sentence for the enticement charge. Additionally, he faces an extra consecutive 10-year sentence for the felony offense related to his status as a registered sex offender. The sentencing date has yet to be determined.

The plea agreement reveals that between November 3 and December 5, 2022, Rushing, previously convicted as a sex offender, knowingly enticed a minor to engage in sexual activities. This case was thoroughly investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant United States Attorney Kaley Austin-Aronson leading the prosecution.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006. The project aims to combat the rising issue of child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating efforts among federal, state, and local agencies to locate, apprehend, and prosecute offenders, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
