Broward Sheriff’s Office Investigates Fatal Shooting in Pompano Beach

Pompano Beach, FL – Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives are currently investigating a deadly shooting that occurred in Pompano Beach, resulting in one fatality and leaving another man injured.

The incident took place shortly after 10:31 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, when Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a shooting in the 3200 block of Northeast First Avenue. Upon arrival, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies, alongside Pompano Beach Fire Rescue, discovered 25-year-old Jacarey Love with a gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by the deputies, Love was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital.

A second adult male victim, whose identity is being temporarily withheld, was also hospitalized due to injuries sustained during the shooting. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
