Orlando, FL – An Orlando physician, Nhan Pham, 54, has pleaded guilty to charges related to the receipt and delivery of an adulterated device, violating the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Pham could face up to three years in federal prison, with sentencing set for August 14, 2025.
From 2015 to 2019, Pham conducted cosmetic procedures using silicone oil, which he ordered online, for gluteal and buttock enhancements. These procedures took place both at his office and residence. Notably, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved the use of injectable silicone for body contouring or enhancement, citing significant health risks and illegal status.
Pham misled his patients by claiming the injections were “safe,” “natural,” and would eventually dissolve. However, many patients reported adverse effects, including severe pain, discoloration, itchiness, burning, and inflammation at the injection sites.
The case gained further attention when Pham offered silicone oil injections to an undercover law enforcement agent on September 24, 2019. The investigation was carried out by the FDA Office of Criminal Investigations and the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation, with support from the Pasco Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Service. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Diane Hu.
