Jacksonville, FL – A federal indictment has been issued against Trevor Wood, a 31-year-old resident of Jacksonville, accusing him of attempting to entice a minor online for sexual activity. If found guilty, Wood could face a federal prison sentence ranging from a minimum of 10 years to life.
The indictment alleges that between January 7 and April 18, 2025, Wood used a cellphone and the internet to try to persuade, induce, and coerce an individual he believed to be under the age of 18 into engaging in sexual conduct.
This charge is a formal accusation, and Wood is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation, and Assistant United States Attorney Diane Hu will prosecute the case.
This indictment is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006. The initiative aims to combat the increasing problem of child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating federal, state, and local efforts to locate, apprehend, and prosecute offenders, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
