Clovis, Calif. – A new local business is sprouting inspiration and creativity one plant at a time. Plant Me Studio, nestled in the Dewitt building on Pollasky Avenue in Old Town Clovis, is the brainchild of owner Mayra Alvarez. Since its inception in August 2024, the studio has been offering unique plant experiences aimed at both novice and seasoned plant enthusiasts.
Mayra Alvarez, who has a passion for sharing her knowledge about plant care and propagation, invites the community to engage with nature through her terrarium workshops. “I love being able to inform people on how to take care of their plants,” Alvarez expressed. Her workshops, available by appointment or for walk-ins, provide a beginner-friendly environment where participants can create their own terrariums. “Everybody is given the same material but somehow everyone leaves with something unique and I love that about it,” she added.
The workshops, lasting an hour and a half, offer unlimited access to materials like rocks, sand, moss, and soil, as well as a wide selection of knick-knacks and plants. Participants are equipped with gloves, brushes, and aprons, ensuring a complete hands-on experience.
Beyond terrariums, Plant Me Studio has expanded its offerings to include monthly workshops on creating moss art, cocodamas, and various types of terrariums. This array of options aims to cater to a diverse audience and inspire creativity.
Alvarez, a native of the Valley, has built a thriving business by channeling the confidence she gained from nurturing plants. “It was scary because it is a commitment, and you never know what is going to happen. Thankfully, God blessed that we’ve been doing pretty good,” she shared.
Plant Me Studio also accommodates private parties for up to 16 people and offers off-site workshops for special events or team-building exercises. Those interested in booking a session or learning more can visit the Plant Me Studio website for further details.
