An indoor pickleball franchise is set to make its Florida debut with a significant new facility in Sarasota opening in mid-December.
The much-anticipated arrival of the indoor pickleball franchise in Florida marks a notable expansion, with Sarasota chosen as the location for its first facility in the state. This new branch, situated off Tallevast Road near the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, spans 27,000 square feet and includes 11 fenced courts, a ball machine, and dinking court.
In keeping with Sarasota’s unique cultural heritage, the facility will feature areas such as the Trapeze Triangle and Three Ring Circus, along with a Grandstand viewing area. This innovative approach is intended to offer pickleball enthusiasts a comprehensive environment for both play and social interaction.
Notable figures spearheading this endeavor are Tim and Heather Dull, former equity analysts with prior franchise experience. They aim to develop nine additional locations throughout Sarasota County and nearby areas, recognizing a demand for quality indoor courts. They express enthusiasm about the potential impact on the local pickleball community, particularly during the busy winter season when demand increases with the influx of visitors.
Heather Dull stated, ‘This club will be a game-changer for the pickleball community, and we are eager to introduce it this winter.’ Her vision is to establish a welcoming venue equipped with state-of-the-art courts and championship-sized show courts, enhanced by suitable amenities for entertainment and viewing.
A team of investors committed to this venture includes the Dulls’ friends, Brian and Chrissy Krupnisky, and Mike Mulligan. Their shared passion for the sport fueled their collaboration in making this facility a reality.
The franchise, originating in Columbia, Maryland, opened its first location in 2022 and has since expanded to nine operational sites across the United States, with over 380 more in development. To establish a single-club franchise, operators are required to have $100,000 in liquid assets and a net worth of $500,000, while a regional franchise demands $250,000 in liquid assets and a $1 million net worth.
This new pickleball facility in Sarasota represents a substantial investment in the area’s recreational infrastructure, promising to enhance the sporting options available for residents and visitors alike.
