A groundbreaking event at Star Farms marked a significant step toward it becoming the largest community within Lakewood Ranch, as the new Saddlestone neighborhood begins development.
The Saddlestone neighborhood, as announced by the developer, will occupy 1,300 home sites across 570 acres. This expansion by Forestar Group, affiliated with D.R. Horton, promises to add substantial capacity to the community. The first phase, involving 300 home sites, is strategically located next to Bourneside Boulevard and 44th Avenue East.
The inclusion of Saddlestone will extend Star Farms’ reach to 2,800 lots, covering nearly 1,300 acres. “Star Farms could not have become the largest master-planned community within Lakewood Ranch without our featured builders, and we look forward to sharing our vision in more detail as our design progresses,” stated Tony Squitieri, Vice President of Forestar West Florida Region.
Star Farms distinguishes itself as a multigenerational community, offering single-family homes, paired villas, and townhomes. Notable builders involved include D.R. Horton, AR Homes, Lee Wetherington Homes, John Cannon Homes, and Homes by WestBay. Sandy Shahinian, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Lakewood Ranch Communities, highlighted the neighborhood’s broad appeal, “Star Farms has become a favorite village in Lakewood Ranch thanks to its wide variety of home types, price points, and exceptional amenities.”
Lakewood Ranch itself is a vast, master-planned community that houses over 72,000 residents and covers more than 33,000 acres. This region continues to thrive, driven by strategic developments like Star Farms. With the introduction of new phases, Star Farms offers a broader scope for potential buyers, contributing to the continued growth and diversity of housing options in the area.
As Saddlestone begins to take shape, Star Farms is set to strengthen its position as a leading community in Lakewood Ranch, promising diverse living options and comprehensive amenities.
