These cameras, marked with the Axon brand, are accompanied by instructions on usage and reminders to power off in private areas like restrooms and break rooms.
Axon, a company known for providing body cameras to law enforcement, launched a series of cameras earlier this year tailored for retail and healthcare settings, resembling those used in Walmart’s trial. Although Axon declined to comment on Walmart’s specific use, their research highlights a pressing issue: nearly half of retail employees have either witnessed or been victims of various forms of workplace violence.
