The U.S. bond market is scheduled to close on Tuesday, November 11th, in observance of Veterans Day, while stock markets will maintain normal operating hours. This marks the initial adjustment in a series of holiday-related closures and modified trading schedules for both markets through the end of the calendar year.

Upcoming Market Schedules

Following Veterans Day, both the U.S. bond and stock markets will close for Thanksgiving on November 27th. Trading is set to resume on November 28th, though with truncated hours, concluding at 1 p.m. for stocks and 2 p.m. for bonds.

Ahead of the Christmas holiday, markets will again operate on a modified schedule. On December 24th, the stock market will close at 1 p.m., and the bond market at 2 p.m. Both markets will then remain closed for the entire Christmas Day holiday on December 25th.

To conclude the year, bond trading will finish early at 2 p.m. on December 31st, New Year’s Eve. Both the bond and stock markets will be fully closed on January 1st in observance of New Year’s Day.

These scheduled closures and early trading halts align with traditional holiday observances, providing market participants with a clear outline of operating hours for the remainder of the year.
