The upcoming week in financial markets will be a four-day trading week for bonds, with investors primarily focusing on corporate earnings reports as several key economic data releases face delays due to the ongoing government shutdown. While bond markets, banks, and government offices will observe the Veterans Day holiday on Tuesday, stock markets are scheduled to remain open.

Key Earnings Reports Expected

A series of prominent companies are slated to report earnings, drawing investor attention across various sectors.

Technology and AI-Focused Firms

Artificial intelligence data center firm CoreWeave is set to report earnings on Monday. The company’s shares have more than doubled since its public debut earlier this year, driven by deals with chipmaker Nvidia and social media giant Meta. Nuclear power provider Oklo will report on Tuesday, with expectations of growth linked to the increasing electricity demands of AI data centers. Network infrastructure provider Cisco, which nearly doubled its AI sales target in the prior quarter, is scheduled to report on Wednesday. Chipmaking equipment supplier Applied Materials will report on Thursday amid ongoing restrictions on its sales to China. Additionally, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) CEO Lisa Su is expected to detail the company’s artificial intelligence roadmap at an analyst day on Tuesday.

Other Noteworthy Corporations

Walt Disney is scheduled to release its earnings report on Thursday, following the recent launch of its ESPN sports app and plans to acquire the NFL network. Other companies reporting this week include stablecoin provider Circle Internet Group, FanDuel-parent Flutter Entertainment, satellite launch firm Rocket Lab, and sneaker manufacturer On Holdings.

Economic Data and Federal Reserve Activity

Beyond corporate financial results, a limited set of economic indicators will be released, alongside commentary from Federal Reserve officials.

Scheduled Economic Releases

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) small business optimism survey for October is due on Tuesday, providing insight into how economic pressures are affecting small firms. On Thursday, the Treasury Department is expected to publish its monthly federal budget report, which will offer details on revenue generated from tariffs.

Delayed Government Reports

Due to the government shutdown, several significant economic reports have been delayed. These include the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for October and initial jobless claims for the week ending November 8, both originally scheduled for Thursday. On Friday, October retail sales, the Producer Price Index (PPI) for October, and September business inventories are also expected to be delayed.

Central Bank Commentary

Federal Reserve officials are scheduled to speak on Friday, with Kansas City Fed President Jeff Schmid and Dallas Fed President Lorie Logan set to offer their perspectives on the economy.

The week’s trading will navigate a holiday-shortened bond market and a landscape where corporate performance takes center stage due to the absence of key government economic data, which remains impacted by the shutdown.
