Lori Loughlin Reflects on Her TV Comeback

Lori Loughlin, known for her role in Full House, is back on screen after serving time for her involvement in the college admissions scandal.

In a surprising yet welcomed return to television, Lori Loughlin stars in the new police drama On Call. This marks her first significant role since serving a two-month prison sentence in 2020 for her involvement in a nationwide college admissions scandal. Reflecting on her comeback, Loughlin expressed a full heart about being back on set. ‘It really was so empowering and so different,’ she shared, describing her experience on the show.

The series, set to premiere on January 9 on Prime Video, features Loughlin as Lieutenant Bishop. She’s joined by fellow actors Troian Bellisario from Pretty Little Liars and Brandon Larracuente from 13 Reasons Why. Despite her enthusiasm, Loughlin admitted to feeling apprehensive about stepping into an unfamiliar role. ‘The challenge out of the gate was playing a role that was unfamiliar,’ she explained, noting that it required her to tap into parts of herself not typically used in her approach to life.

Her role as a strong, decisive leader running a department was bolstered by the guidance of her costar, Eriq La Salle, who played an instrumental part in helping her find her character. Loughlin praised La Salle’s support, saying it gave her the confidence to portray the unapologetic and strong woman that Lieutenant Bishop represents. ‘Once I was able to drop into that, it was great fun,’ she recalled.

Earlier this year, Loughlin spoke openly about her journey since the scandal, describing herself as ‘strong, grateful, open, and kind’ in an interview with First For Women. Her return to acting is a testament to these qualities as she navigates this new chapter in her career.

Lori Loughlin’s return to television signifies her resilience and determination to reclaim her place in the entertainment industry. With her new role in On Call, she not only embraces a fresh start but also showcases a personal and professional transformation.
