Young stated, “It seems Glastonbury is now under corporate control and is not the way I remember it being… We will not be playing Glastonbury on this tour because it is a corporate turn-off, and not for me like it used to be.”

This partnership began after the BBC took over from Channel 4, and its presence has only expanded since. Although Young was not officially listed on the Glastonbury lineup for this year, his absence will certainly be felt, as he previously headlined the iconic Pyramid stage in 2009. Meanwhile, the only confirmed act for this year’s festival, happening from June 25 to 29, is Rod Stewart, who promises to deliver a memorable “teatime legend” performance.
