Tamarac, FL – Detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Tamarac District have uncovered an alleged theft scheme by a pair of house cleaners accused of stealing jewelry, cash, and other valuables from their clients’ homes. The suspects, identified as Oscar German Munoz, 61, and Martha Cecilia Molano, 57, both residing at 2382 N.W. 86th Lane in Coral Springs, were arrested following an extensive investigation.

The case came to light in early April when an elderly couple in Tamarac’s Yardley community reported the disappearance of thousands of dollars worth of valuables. Surveillance footage revealed Munoz and Molano entering the couple’s residence with cleaning supplies and leaving shortly thereafter. This discovery led detectives to suspect the duo in a series of similar burglaries targeting elderly or affluent victims under the guise of providing house cleaning services.

On May 5, detectives executed a search warrant at the suspects’ Coral Springs home, recovering hundreds of stolen items, including necklaces, rings, watches, earrings, gems, coins, and cash. The investigation further revealed that Munoz and Molano allegedly sold stolen jewelry at pawn shops and used the proceeds for extravagant international trips.

The pair have been charged with burglary of an unoccupied structure and grand theft. The investigation continues, with detectives suspecting additional victims in Tamarac and Palm Beach County. Authorities are urging anyone who believes they may have been victimized to contact BSO Detective Danny Polo at 954-720-2225.

In light of these events, detectives advise consumers to thoroughly vet potential house cleaners or service providers by researching online, verifying business licenses and insurance, asking for references, and obtaining multiple estimates before hiring.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office will display some of the recovered items at the Tamarac District Office, 7515 Pine Island Road, with a detective available for interviews at 10 a.m. today, May 14.
