Currently detained in Montgomery County Jail, Garrison is set for arraignment on April 22. The situation stems from incidents involving a shooting and subsequent crash that occurred in the early hours of April 1.
Around 1:15 a.m., law enforcement responded to a scene at East Fourth and South Main streets. Upon arrival, they discovered a 46-year-old man with a gunshot wound inside a crashed vehicle. The victim was immediately transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, although his condition later stabilized.
Following the incident, the victim’s family indicated that the alleged shooter, known by the alias “Gutta,” was reportedly involved in drug activities within the Park Manor apartment complex. This information was included in an affidavit submitted to Dayton Municipal Court.
In their investigation, authorities utilized Flock cameras along with surveillance from downtown businesses to gather footage of the shooting. This enabled them to determine the make, model, and license plate of the suspect’s vehicle, as well as identify a possible suspect.
When police located the vehicle at the Park Manor complex, it managed to flee before the driver could be identified. However, subsequent police efforts led to the arrest of the driver, who was identified as Garrison. Both Garrison and his girlfriend later confirmed in interviews that he used the alias “Gutta,” according to court documents.
