Eatonville’s Boys and Girls Club Unveils New Playground: See the Photos

In a remarkable community effort, a new playground has been constructed at the Eatonville Boys and Girls Club, marking a significant enhancement for the local area. On April 15, 2025, over 150 dedicated volunteers from DaVita, in collaboration with the nonprofit organization KABOOM!, came together to bring this vision to life.

The volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the day, assembling various playground structures and amenities designed to provide a joyful and safe environment for children. Among the participants, Hayden Muntz was seen diligently assembling a bench, while Jeremy Winkelman ensured the stability of an entrance ramp by securing it firmly with stakes. Angela Mam and Tommy Henderson were also actively involved, focusing on securing sections of the slide, demonstrating the collective spirit and teamwork involved in the project.

The playground’s construction included the installation of two shade structures, adding to the comfort and usability of the space. The entire project culminated in a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by prominent figures such as Jamie Merrill, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, and Eatonville Mayor Angie Gardner, both of whom addressed the attendees, acknowledging the volunteers’ hard work and the lasting impact of the new facilities.

The event was a testament to the community’s dedication to improving recreational opportunities for its youth. Volunteers from DaVita commemorated the occasion with a group photo, capturing the moment of their achievement and commitment to fostering a vibrant community space.
