Ex-Kettering Schools Staffer Sentenced to 8 Weekends in Jail for Sex Case

Last month, charges against Irwin culminated in a guilty plea to aggravated assault, classified as a felony, as well as a misdemeanor charge of sexual imposition, processed through a bill of information. Initially, Irwin faced an indictment on two felony counts of sexual battery; however, these charges have since been dismissed. The accusations stem from incidents occurring between August 1, 2012, and May 1, 2013, as detailed in the indictment.

The investigation into these allegations was conducted by the Kettering Police Department, following a complaint from a former student, who is now 30 years old. Kettering City Schools confirmed that Irwin resigned from his position on March 12, 2024. Additionally, he has been classified as a Tier I sexual offender, which mandates that he register his address annually for a duration of 15 years. Furthermore, Irwin will be prohibited from residing within 1,000 feet of any school, preschool, or child care center, as outlined in court records.
