A tragic collision resulted in the death of a motorcyclist who collided with a vehicle on Route 72 in Harwinton over the weekend. The incident occurred on Saturday at approximately 2:07 p.m. As a 23-year-old woman from Burlington was driving a 2025 Mazda CX-30 southbound, she reduced her speed to turn left onto East Church Road. Riding behind her vehicle was 40-year-old Jhonatan Jiron from Bristol, operating a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, who then impacted the rear of the Mazda.
Jiron was declared deceased at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Mazda sustained minor injuries but opted not to seek medical treatment. Both the motorcycle and the Mazda required towing from the scene. Authorities have stated that the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
